Class of 1976 Mechanical Engineering AlumniClass of '76 Mechanical AlumniClass gifts are an opportunity for alumni to recognize what their University of Calgary education has done for them. Alumni can celebrate their years at the Schulich School of Engineering by giving something back to the school and to future generations of Schulich Engineers.

Class gifts can take the form of establishing a student award, creating a memorial fund, improving student resources or funding a capital project. These gifts create a legacy for the class year and help current students reach their goals.

Create a Student Award

Types of Student Awards

  • Scholarships are awarded to students primarily on the basis of academic achievement.
  • Bursaries are awarded to students on the basis of academic standing and financial need, and are more common at the undergraduate level.
  • Awards are made to students on the basis of academic standing and other criteria such as leadership and community involvement.
  • Prizes are usually given in nominal recognition of excellence in a particular subject.

Please Note:  All undergraduate awards must comply with University of Calgary regulations.

Refurbish Student Spaces

  • The Schulich School of Engineering has identified various student spaces such as homerooms, laboratories, and even a student lounge that would benefit from refurbishment. Many of these areas have not been upgraded or enhanced since the original inception of the school. Creating a modern, welcoming environment for current students to enjoy is an initiative that appeals to many alumni.
