Dr. Jianxun (Jennifer) He is currently seeking highly motivated M.Sc. and Ph.D students who are interested in conducting research in the area of water resources engineering. The research topics include: advanced statistical and deterministic modeling in hydrology and water quality, non-stationary flood/rainfall frequency analysis, modeling anthropogenic and climate change impacts on water resources, urban storm water management, and surface water quality monitoring & assessment. The candidates are expected to have a background in civil engineering or other related fields. Preference will be given to candidates who have strong data analysis and modeling skills. | Postdoctoral Position Geotechnical Engineering |
| Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research position in Geotechnical Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Calgary. The research program focuses on the geomechanics of gas hydrate reservoirs, with emphasis on the permeability of hydrate-laden specimens.
Qualified candidates will possess a PhD in geotechnical or geological engineering along with experimental research experience in a laboratory environment. Candidates should have a demonstrated record of original contributions in their research field. Familiarity with triaxial testing and ultrasonic velocity measurement is a definite asset, although training in the usage of these tools will be provided. Applicants should have strong written and verbal communication skills and should be prepared for independent research activities as well as working effectively within a research group. This is a two year position, with the potential for extension. Salary will be commensurate with training and experience. This position is available immediately, but applications will be reviewed until a successful candidate is found.
